SIR: Can Bolton Council explain why only twelve months ago they resurfaced Plodder Lane in Farnworth but yet today the gutters are wider still and are full of large cracks and pot holes.
I cycle to work daily from Westhoughton to Manchester Road in Bolton. The Council spends all this money on marking up cycle lanes but seem to forget about the big holes that force cyclists to go wider than needed, possibly causing danger to themselves and others.
The government wants people to leave cars at home and use other forms of transport. I choose to cycle (although I have a car which is taxed). Maybe they used cheap materials or do cyclists in the gutter not matter?
Plodder Lane is one of many roads in need of repair from a cyclist's point of view.
