ALL three new arrivals will be in the frame when Wanderers take on Leicester at the Reebok tomorrow in the latest leg of their survival mission.

John Salako and Bob Taylor - recruited in deadline day deals - will join Swiss-born striker Gaetano Giallanza in Colin Todd's strengthened, new-look squad.

Salako looks a certain starter in a midfield still without the injured Scott Sellars while the manager must decide between experience and unpredictability in his choice of a partner for Dean Holdsworth in the absence of suspended top scorer Nathan Blake.

Todd is keeping his game plan under wraps but dropped a hint that Taylor might get the nod when he recalled the goal he signed off with when he ended

his previous loan stint in the 1-1 draw at Manchester United on February 7.

"He scored in his last game for us and it would be brilliant if he could get one in his first game back," the manager said as he asked his players for a repeat of the performance that earned a 3-2 victory over Sheffield Wednesday a fortnight ago.

That result - Wanderers' first win in three and a half months - breathed new life into their survival hopes but results elsewhere left them 19th in the table and four points adrift in the relegation frame.

Nevertheless, Todd believes this week's triple transfer swoop - Giallanza and Taylor on loan until the end of the season from FC Nantes and West Brom respectively, Salako signed on a free from Coventry - has strengthened his survival hand.

"Bob will give us strength and experience and knows how we play," Todd said of the Albion striker whose Reebok return was arranged yesterday afternoon, just hours after Salako put pen to paper.

"Gaetano has looked sharp in training and he'll give us depth and variety in attack. John's a genuine wide player and will give us a range of options."

Leicester, however, will be formidable opponents in the second of three successive home games - the results of which will go a long way to determining whether Wanderers stand any chance of beating the drop.

Martin O'Neill's side, Coca-Cola Cup winners a year ago and now established as a respected Premiership force, currently lie ninth on 40 points and are shooting for a UEFA Cup place.

The flank raids of Steve Guppy and Robbie Savage and the power of an attack led by highly-rated England U-21 star Emile Heskey, will be a severe test of whatever defence formation Wanderers opt for - the three centre-back system which proved effective last time out or the more familiar 'flat back four'.

But, having finally signed a genuine winger in Salako and with three points a must, the fans will be looking for Wanderers to be calling the shots and asking the most searching questions of the Leicester defence.

Reserve striker Scott Taylor followed Peter Beardsley out on the loan trail yesterday when he joined Blackpool. Beardsley, who has teamed up with his old pal Kevin Keegan for the rest of the season, will make his Fulham debut at Gillingham and Taylor is in the Seasiders' squad at York.

Wanderers' home game against title-chasing Arsenal next Tuesday (ko 8pm) is a sell-out.
