BOLTON pub chain Yates's Wine Lodges has been named the nation's top pub brand.
Yates's was named Pub Retail Brand of the Year by the industry 'bible' the Publican newspaper.
Among the key factors that persuaded the judges to vote for Yates's was the introduction of northern beer prices in southern pubs and a money-back 15 minute food service guarantee.
Yates's was also praised for its "chameleon factor" which means it can transform the mood in its pubs from a popular lunchtime venue for office workers to an entertainment led night spot for the young and young at heart.
Yates's has branches in about 80 high streets nationwide.
As reported in Cheers, the Bolton branch on Bradshawgate is currently closed for a huge 20- week refurbishment which will expand the pub into a neighbouring property and create a two storey venue.
