WHILE we welcome any cash boosts for heath care, we question why people from ethnic minorities in Bolton should not already be fully covered.
The announcement that the Ethnic Minority Health Forum has received £128,000 from the National Lottery raises the issue about why the extra money is needed.
We have a National Health Service which should provide for everyone irrespective of their ethnic origins.
No doubt the money will be put to good use in employing a full-time worker to research health care needs and in training volunteers to help where there are language and other problems. But if those services are essential, they should have been available before.
