Morning has broken, another day begins anew.

The moon and the stars have vanished from our view.

The sun is rising, tinting the clouds with a red and golden display,

For this is going to be a wonderful day.

The blackbird sings at the break of dawn,

To welcome the Spring as a new day is born.

The trees will soon be transformed with leaves so green,

Some with white and pink blossom looking supreme.

The birds are busy building their nest,

For Spring-time is wonderful and by far the best.

The daffodils dance in the soft breezes that blow,

The crocus in all their glory, set the borders aglow.

Now the twilight is falling, evening is nigh,

Shadows of the sunset steal across the sky.

Goodbye to Winter, we welcome the Spring,

And praise God for giving us these wonderful things. By Jean Sandiford
