IN spite of dropping four home points in the last two games, Leigh RMI travel to Winsford tonight, in the knowledge that a victory could move them up to third place.

That would leave them four points behind Runcorn, who are in second spot, and the Railwaymen would still have two games in hand.

But it won't be easy against a Winsford side who are only two points adrift of RMI and haven't conceded a goal in the last five games. Winsford have kept 15 clean sheets this season with Leigh recording one less.

Winsford's run coincides with the return of 21-year-old goalkeeper Andy Oakes who is interesting several Premiership clubs.

Leigh old boys Paul Wheeler and Steve Shaughnessy, are due to line up against RMI. But Chris Bermingham is out as he looks certain to leave Barton Stadium for a Unibond Division One club.

Ian Brady misses his second of a three-match ban for Leigh and Stuart Locke could start his first game since January in place of Lee Anderson, who was sent off for the third time this season last Saturday against Runcorn.

That could leave a place on the bench for unsettled defender Mark Schofield along with striker Peter McCrae, who was snapped up from Atherton LR just before the deadline.
