THE young lives tragically lost in the French Alps coach crash were remembered at St James's CE School, Farnworth, last night.
Orchestra banners bought with donations by local individuals and organisations were dedicated in memory of one of the three youngsters who died, Robert Boardman.
Robert, 14, had been a member of the school orchestra in which he played the violin. HIs fellow pupils wanted something to remember Robert by and the banners, costing over £1,000 in total, were chosen.
The school, in Lucas Road, Farnworth, held an Easter Concert last night when the 36 banners, including a conductor's banner, were dedicated.
All three youngsters, Robert, 14-year-old Keith Ridding and Nicola Moore, 16, were remembered. Both Robert and Keith's mothers were at the concert.
The orchestra dedicated one of its pieces, "The Candle with the Rose" to the three children who died in the coach crash in France last year.
There was a huge raffle, with a variety of prizes, including a signed photograph of Elton John and a Terry Wogan sweatshirt, helping to boost the memorial fund.
