Mary stood and gazed at the cross.
Saw her son hanging in pain.
Mary went as she looked at the cross,
Could life be the same again?.
Mary thought as she knelt by the cross,
"Why has God done this to me?"
Mary walked away from the cross.
Why had this disaster to be?
The following day, Mary sat home alone,
Alone with her memories and grief.
Mary's friends came to be by her side,
But they brought no joy or relief.
Then Mary woke up on the Sunday,
It seemed like an ordinary day.
Did Mary have any inkling
Of the news that was on the way?
Suddenly a voice shouted: "Mary,
"Come out, come out, dry your tears.
"Your son is alive again Mary,
"He is risen, you need have no fears."
Mary rushed into the sunshine,
Oh, what a glorious thing.
"Thank you God," Mary shouted,
And she began to sing.
"Halleluiah dear Father," sang Mary.
We still sing "Halleluiah" today.
Our Lord is alive and is with us.
To-day, through life and always. By George H Platt
