A WOMAN had a lucky escape after scaffolding she was working on collapsed on to a busy Chorley road.
Karen Clithero, of Beaconsfield Terrace, Chorley, had to jump to safety as the 20 foot high construction crashed to the ground in Pall Mall just before noon on Wednesday.
The accident left timber, poles and tiles strewn across the road, which was closed for more than half an hour.
The scaffolding had been put up outside a house at the junction with Longworth Street and Karen was helping husband Darren take tiles from the roof.
She was given first aid by fire crews before being taken to Chorley Hospital with minor back and pelvic injuries.
