Wellington puts the boot in IN THE Chorley Nissan Sunday league Premier Division leaders St Josephs came unstuck when they travelled to Astley Park to play first division side Black Horse in the Guardian Shield, losing 4-1.
The other tie to take place saw Brooklyn Athletic take on Railway and the premier side cruised to a 5-2 victory.
In the Premier Division Leo's took advantage of the fact that Blackrod Town could only field eight players. Lilley scored for Town but Leo's secured the win with two goals from Walker and one from Collier.
In Division One a Chippendale hat-trick helped Clayton Orient to a 4-1 victory at Red Herring. A goal each from Martell and Kay saw Spread Eagle 2-0 up against Edge United , but two late strikes by O'Riley and Swindells ensured the points were shared.
Rose & Crown won 2-1 at Wingates and league leaders Springfield beat Gillibrand 7-3, with Wellington grabbing a hat-trick.
In Division Two, Adlington Nomads beat Golden Lion 2-0 with goals from McGinty and Miller and two goals from Taylor and one from Birchall eased Wheatsheaf past Brookes Arms 3-0.
Chicago Town led Talbot Arms 5-1 at half time, but were hanging on at the final whistle, winning 5-4. Euxton WMI beat the division's basement club Halfway House by the odd goal in five and a header from Red Lion sub Wojciechowski just three minutes from time earned his side a 3-3 draw at home to Red Cat.
Adlington Rovers move into fourth spot with a 4-1 win at Withnell United. In the Supplementary Cup, Farmers Arms reached the semi-finals winning 5-0 at Euxton Mills.
