SIR: Mr Ivan Cooper's quixotic concern for both the electors of Bolton West and the health of Ms Ruth Kelly is truly touching (BEN, March 20).
Not content with penning his misogynistic drivel once, Mr Cooper returns to his favourite topic of claiming that Ruth Kelly is unfit to be an MP because she has the temerity to become pregnant. Obviously she should have sought written permission from Mr Cooper beforehand.
I must admit to having been ignorant of the fact that Mr Cooper is a spokesman for the Conservative Party. In the light of this damning admission, I have forwarded a copy of his original letter, which caused so much rightful indignation, together with his most recent ramblings, to the parliamentary office of Mr William Hague, the Tory leader.
I eagerly await a reply from Mr Hague as to whether bullying pregnant women is now official Conservative Party policy.
