NIGHT school may never be the same again if a novel new pub based language course is a success.

The Howcroft Inn has teamed up with a North-west college to offer relaxed and informal language courses - taught in the bar!

Landlord Clive Nightingale is promising the classes will definitely not feel like going back to school.

Clive said: "The lessons will be entertaining and focused on conversation and listening skills.

"Some people feel uneasy about going into a classroom. Hopefully the pub surroundings will help them to feel more confident about gaining a skill and having some fun at the same time."

Students will be able to sip a pint as they ease their way into learning a foreign tongue.

The course will be run in conjunction with South Trafford College who will provide the tutor, text books and other materials once students have enrolled and paid their fees.

A Spanish course will run each Monday evening from 15 weeks from April 20. French will be taught each Thursday from April 23.

More details are available from the pub on Pool Street or from Colette Parry at South Trafford College on 0161 952 4644.
