JASON Donohue has answered a call from 'home.'
The former Hilton Park favourite has left Super League newcomers Hull Sharks and rejoined his hometown team on a month's loan.
Donohue, who came through Leigh's junior ranks to blossom into a Great Britain Under 21 international, will make his debut from the bench at Featherstone on Sunday.
The one-time scrum-half who developed into a specialist hooker, spent five seasons as a first team regular at Leigh before his career switched to Yorkshire giants Leeds, Bradford and Hull.
Donohue, who still lives in Leigh, could be recalled by the Sharks at any time during his loan period but is currently out of the first team picture at the Boulevard.
Donohue's last coach at Leigh, Steve Simms, will be the most relieved man at Post Office Road when the final hooter sounds on Sunday.
Simms sends his new team, Featherstone Rovers, into a Division One basement battle with his 'hometown' team with the Aussie coach admitting to 'not particularly looking forward' to the clash. "It will be a really strange feeling," he says. "This is the first time I've coached a team against Leigh and it's not a pleasant feeling. I'll just be glad to get the game out of the way.
"I will always regard Leigh as my adopted English home; we have relatives in the town and visit as often as we can.
"The first result I look for on a Sunday is always Leigh's."
Simms spent a couple productive seasons at Hilton Park before a move to Halifax followed and after two seasons at Thrum Hall he moved further into West Yorkshire to join Rovers.
"I'll always be grateful to Leigh for giving me my first coaching chance in England. I throughly enjoyed my time there and hope they go on to prosper."
Leigh's squad is: O'Loughlin, Wingfield, Hadcroft, Donlan, Ingram, Kendrick, Wilkinson, Street, Jenkins, Conway, Costello, Geritas, Murray, Arkwright, Donohue, Hill, Hudspith, Garces, Colin Smith.
NEW signing James Arkwright scored one try and made another as Leigh's Alliance side won their first match of the season, beating Rochdale 22-10 at Hilton Park last night.
