Astley Bridge SIR: I am seeking employment/training, and this enterprise is in itself a full time venture.
On a recent trip to Southport, I was both surprised and concerned to find out that among other things, FREE training for HGV and PSV licences was available. But in my home town of Bolton this is not the case.
This is yet just another case of open discrimination against the unemployed. How can the Government justify free training for one unemployed person, and not for another. In Bolton it can cost nearly £1,000 to obtain these licences and many unemployed cannot afford this.
If the Government truly wishes to get people back in work, then these schemes should be readily available to all those genuinely seeking work or training.
Members of the public should know that some people are being denied the right to choose the career of their choice.
