BOLTON College Consultancy Services Ltd has appointed a new managing director and company secretary.

Mr Eric Fogg will be responsible for the financial performance of the Consultancy, which is run as a separate business by Bolton College in Manchester Road.

He has also been appointed as Director of Lancashire College Consortium Ltd, representing Bolton College and the Consultancy.

The company is a joint venture to raise funds for partner colleges.

Mr Fogg trained as an accountant with Manchester firm Thornton Gaker & Co (now Grant Thornton) and went on to run the financial aspects of several companies.

He spent 11 years in Nigeria as Chief Executive of a civil engineering company with an annual turnover of £50 million.

After returning to this country he became Management Accountant at engineering firm Meltog Ltd, part of Ropner plc.

He later became a freelance financial consultant, working for companies and organisations which included Barclays Bank Registrars and Irwell Valley Housing Association.

Bolton College Consultancy clients include British Aerospace, British Gas, electricity generating companies, Mere Hall Conference Centre, Moat House Hotels, North West, Welsh and Yorkshire Water, Nuclear Electric, Royal Mail and Warburtons.

Mr Fogg is married with four daughters and plays golf from a seven handicap.
