SIR: My husband and I would like to thank a gentleman for helping us after an accident at a Bolton shopping centre on April 25.
My four-year-old daughter's hand was crushed in the door housing of a lift when the doors opened. Her hand was wedged firmly between the door and the front panel of the lift. We were unable to free her, when the gentleman stopped to help. The man had to ram the door several times whilst my husband pressed the buttons and I eased her hand out. This kind man even went to alert the security guards who were quickly on the scene.
In all the panic we never thanked him for what he did.
We wish to thank him sincerely for his quick-thinking and generally being a "Good Samaritan".
