WHAT an excellent idea. Steve Howarth, an experienced examiner from the Driving Standards Agency, is giving a talk about the driving test to Withins School pupils on Thursday.
Statistics show that new drivers, aged 17 to 21, are involved in a quarter of all fatal accidents, despite accounting for only 10 per cent of all full driving licence holders. So targeting young people who are still at school for road safety advice is both sensible and far-sighted.
We hope that all Bolton's secondary schools will be included in the scheme.
