CHORLEY'S MP Lindsay Hoyle was due to appear on BBC TV programme Kilroy yesterday (Wednesday) as the debate about child killer Mary Bell continued.
Mr Hoyle gained widespread support in Parliament for a motion to ban the book after it was alleged Mary Bell was paid £50,000 for her contribution.
Following the outcry, the MP is now awaiting the results of an inquiry into the issue called by Home Secretary Jack Straw.
Mr Hoyle called for the book, Cries Unheard, to be banned and voiced his anger at its author and publishers.
He said: "The motion I tabled gained a lot of support from colleagues including Tony Blair.
"It's good news that there will be an inquiry into how this happened."
