FORMER Lancashire County councillor Pat Case is back on Chorley Council after winning Anderton ward by just 20 votes for the Tories.
But Labour maintained control of the council once led by Mrs Case 20 years ago, despite losing four seats.
The Adlington seat was kept in the family with Cath Hoyle winning one of the two seats in the ward. The seat was left vacant when her husband Lindsay was elected MP for Chorley . The other seat was won by June Molyneux.
There were 18 seats in 17 wards up for grabs in the borough. Conservatives and Liberal Democrats are now equal in opposition with the Tories having gained two seats and the Lib Dems gaining one and losing one.
The new constitution of the council is Labour 33; Conservatives 6; Liberal Democrats 6; Independent 1; Independent Labour 1.
