NEWLY elected Bolton councillor John Walsh has been voted into a top role in the Conservative Party.
Cllr Walsh, who re-gained his seat for the Astley Bridge ward on Bolton Council in last week's local elections, has been elected deputy chairman of the North West Conservative Party.
He was one of the representatives from the region's 76 constituencies attending an annual meeting at the Reebok Stadium on Saturday.
In the newly established post as deputy chairman, Cllr Walsh will be responsible for co-ordinating political activity and campaigning in the North West.
"I am delighted to have been elected to this vital new post at an exciting time for the Conservative Party," said Cllr Walsh.
