GIPSIES who invaded Bolton's Burnden Park have been booted off.
The former football ground's car park was deserted today after travellers in 40 caravans were ordered to move on over the weekend.
Bolton Council, acting on behalf of Bolton Wanderers, won a court order on Friday to evict the gipsies who have been regular visitors to Burnden since the stadium closed last year.
Wanderers have announced plans to demolish the century-old ground early to ease inconvenience for local folk.
But residents and businesses near the Manchester Road ground say they're sick of the travellers causing nuisance and hitting trade.
Sunar Gaw Indian restaurant, opposite Burnden, told the BEN last week that its takings had tumbled by a third since the start of the gipsy visits.
