MORE details are emerging of the scale of the opposition facing Bolton and other towns when the £600 million Trafford Centre opens in September.

The latest leisure operators to sign up are:

NAMCO Station. They are taking 30,000 square feet to install an 18-lane, 10-pin bowling alley, dodgem cars, children's rides, console games and eating and drinking facilities.

NAMCO's other UK development is in the former County Hall in London.

Rainforest Cafe will cover 16,000 square feet on ground level and include a 1,500 sq ft retail area, a restaurant seating 340 people and a large "mushroom" bar with animal leg stools.

It will recreate a tropical rainforest through a combination of live animals and special effects, including cascading waterfalls and rainstorms with thunder and lightning.

There is a similar venue in London.

Moreland plc is taking 12,000 square feet for its Exchange Diner brand, a family-orientated restaurant chain.

North West entrepreneur Lino Della Pesca is taking 15,000 square feet to operate his Tiggis and Five theme - a series of five restaurants under one roof which has been successful in Preston.

Trafford Centre managing director Mike Butterworth said: "With the addition of the latest names, our plans for the Orient Leisure Dome area are now just about complete.

"work on the creation of the Orient's International theming is forging ahead, the larger restaurants have started fitting out their premises and we expect all our catering and leisure partners to be fitting out their units by June."

The company says construction work at the Trafford Centre is approaching fever pitch.

There are 2,100 people working on the site towards the September 10 opening target.
