MANCHESTER'S Granada Studios - one of the North-west's top tourist attractions - is closing one of its main sections for two weeks for refurbishing.

The Backstage Tour is being revamped between May 12 and 21 and will re-open with new feature attractions on May 22.

But visitors can still enjoy a full-day's entertainment during this time. The park's other major attractions such as the Aliens Motion Master ride and Baker Street and Coronation Street will remain open.

However, prices will be cut while the Backstage Tour work is going on.

The Backstage Tour gives visitors an insight into

the world of film and TV production.

Guests are guided through make-up and wardrobe departments before exploring real TV sets of famous locations like Downing Street and studios of popular programmes like This Morning.

The refurbishment programme will bring the tour right up-to-date and include sets from top productions such as Blind Date and Emmerdale.
