DUNSCAR stalwart Ian Bond surprised himself by winning the Past Presidents Trophy at Turton.
Because of the poor entry he was cajoled into entering but produced the goods in fine style with a 72 and 70 for a winning 142 nett.
Home golfer Mark Rothwell was runner-up with 70-14-144, while the best gross 36 holes went to Adam Whalley of Dunscar with 75-74-149.

LOCAL sides came up trumps with 4-3 victories in the Manchester Alliance Foursomes. Deane overcame Walton Hall and Dunscar edged out Hazel Grove.
The Dunham Forest (Manchester Alliance) also saw local sides victorious with Dunscar beating Buxton High Peak 5-2, while Turton beat Davenport 4-3.
FOUR local golfers took part in the Lancashire Boys against Lancashire Schools at Dunscar. They were Daniel Hurst (Dun), Ben Crompton (OL), Gareth Hastie (Dun) and James Barr (Dea) who all gave impressive displays.
BOLTON took the honours when the Second Division Golf Cot was held at the Lostock Club.
The charity competition was dominated by the home side who won the Buff Cup on 76 points with Great Lever runners-up a point behind. The winning team was comprised of Ray Heslop, Rod Sellers, Martin Yates and Nick Taylor.
The Colonel Entwistle Cup, awarded to the pair with the most stableford points, was shared between Heslop and Sellers on 41 points from Great Lever's Trevor Molyneux and Jim Marsh with 38 points.
IAN Brown won the Dunscar Medal with a 74-6-68, one ahead of Jeremy Howarth 79-10-69.
Harold Barlow 76-11-65 took the Second Division prize from Jack Haslam 78-12-66. Bob Walton won the Third Division on 84-19-65 from Cliff Wiggans 88-17-71.
