THE curtain finally came down on the season at Victory Park with Chorley Reserves collecting the club's first silverware for a decade.
In the final of the League Cup played last Saturday at Trafford, the reserves lifted the trophy beating Guiseley 1-0 to deny the Yorkshire side a league and cup double.
Backed by good travelling support, the Magpies got the only goal after just 20 minutes and it was a strike fit to win any final.
Collecting a loose ball 30 yards out James Price advanced before unleashing a rocket of a drive from the edge of the area which flashed into the net.
Price later blotted his copybook when he was sent off in the second half for his second bookable offence.
But Chorley defended superbly with Ian Price and Lee Owler particularly outstanding. It was a superb end to a fine season for the Magpies Reserves.
