THE hard work put in by Chorley Athletic throwing coach Alan Morris was rewarded last weekend when two of his javelin throwers became Lancashire Champions.
On Saturday, Eloise Manger in her first major athletic meeting became Lancashire champion for the under 15 girls with a new county best of 25.80m.
On Sunday, an injured James Roden threw an amazing 48.26m with only a five-step run up to become Lancashire champion for the under 17 boys.
Four other athletes did exceedingly well to come home with five medals between them - three silver and two bronze.
Peter Dickenson was just pushed into second place on the line in the junior men's 100m, with both athletes finishing in the same time of 11.5 seconds.
Philip Livesey came second on countback in a very close men's junior high jump competition with both the top placed athletes clearing 1.89m.
Lisa Richardson was the other silver medallist, doing very well to finish second in the under 15 girls 1500m, while junior Mark Ellison received bronze medals in the 800m and 1500m events.
