SIR: This is the scene that greets me every day I go shopping in Morrisons. The store itself and the adjacent Water Place swimming pool both deny they are responsible, and they are certainly not to blame. I have made endless complaints to the Cleansing Department of Bolton Council.
As a Bolton Council tax payer, I feel it is their duty to keep this town clean and tidy. And I think there should be more litter bins and on-the-spot fines for kids and irresponsible parents, who drop filth, cigarette ends etc. Also, has anybody noticed the state of Bolton's pavements lately, which are literally covered with discarded chewing gun? Yet another example of the thoughtless, selfish, disrespectful society we are now living in.
The state of litter is usually a lot worse than this!
