BROTHERS Chris and Andy Horrocks were star-struck when they got the chance to play at Old Trafford.

They played alongside boyhood idol and former Bolton Wanderers' favourite Frank Worthington, and other soccer and TV celebrities at a charity match.

Regular five-a-side players Chris, 25, and 20-year-old Andy, who live in Westhoughton, both work in tele-marketing for Great Universal Stores and played for the TV stars' team. GUS are staunch supporters of the Christie Hospital and paid for the brothers' dream debuts in a match against a media team to publicise the £25 million "Christie's against Cancer" centenary appeal.

A ceaseless downpour failed to dampen enthusiasm for the invitation-only match.

Former United and Ireland striker Frank Stapleton was the referee and the media team squeezed a 6-5 victory in spite of two goals from Frank Worthington and one from former Manchester City star Asa Hartford.

Coronation Street star Michael Le Vell, who plays garage boss Kevin Webster, captained the TV stars along with fellow actors and the Horrocks brothers.

Michael Le Vell, who lost both parents to cancer, said: "We only had five days notice but once the lads knew it was at United, and for the Christie Hospital, I had no problem getting volunteers."
