A BRASSED off worker at a Horwich foundry claims staff are in limbo because bosses will not say who is getting the boot.
As previouslyreported in the Bolton Evening News, 16 jobs at Horwich Castings are being axed.
But managers at the Chorley New Road steel factory, which employs 190 people, have not given out the names of those who getting the chop.
One worker who contacted the BEN, but did not want to be named, said staff were tearing their hair out with worry.
He said: "It's not fair on the workers having to wait like this, nobody knows anything."
He claimed the firm was conducting interviews to assess all the work force to see who should keep their jobs.
Managing director David Fearnley said workers had not been told names because the firm was still assessing who wanted voluntary redundancy.
And he said negotiations were continuing with union representatives.
The firm is shedding jobs because it has been hit by the strong pound and has suffered from a lack of orders from the railway sector.
Further redundancies could be on the cards after the situation is assessed in August.
However, Mr Fearnley said he was optimistic conditions would improve after recent signs the pound was losing its value.
