TWO major Bolton companies are among the fastest growing businesses in the North-west.
Financial performances over three years have been analysed in the latest edition of The Quarterly Review, published by stockbrokers BWD Rensburg and sponsored by KPMG Corporate Finance.
The Blackrod-based Allen Group, a civil engineering and property development company, is sixth out of 54 in the building and construction seminar.
Swinton ceramic tile manufacturer Quiligotti comes top of the list.
Yates Brothers Wine Lodges, a national organisation expanding rapidly from its base in Manchester Road, Bolton, is seventh out of 48 companies analysed in an "other services" category headed by dance hall operator Northern Leisure of Preston.
The Wilmslow-based Riva Group, which has its factory in Westhoughton, is rated first out of 63 in "other manufacturing."
The company is a point-of-sale and store management software developer.
JJB Sports at Wigan, the sportswear and sports equipment retailer, is first out of 52 in the retail and distribution category.
BOLTON motor retailer Ian Anthony (Holdings) Ltd is 88th in a national league table of top-performing independent companies compiled by accountants Price Waterhouse.
