THE New Millennium Experience Company is seeking computer, telephony, IT and ticketing systems suppliers for the Millennium Dome project.
A Government spokesman said advanced and innovative systems would be needed in order to handle the predicted 12 million visitors to the Greenwich site.
North-west firms operating in this specialised field are likely to be keen to seek a piece of the action.
All visitors to the Experience will be required to pre-book their tickets.
NMEC is particularly interested to hear from companies who supply the following services:
Integrated software systems.
Computer and telephonic hardware.
Ticket production equipment.
Ticketing systems.
Prospective visitors to the Dome Experience will be able to buy their tickets at 35,000 National Lottery terminals.
There will also be a dedicated call-centre which will also have on-line links with other established ticketing systems and transport providers. "The computer systems and software used will be crucial in making this system work on time and to budget," the spokesman said.
Companies who are able to supply services and equipment are asked to register an interest by sending brief company details to: Operations Department, New Millennium Experience Company, 110 Buckingham Palace Road, London, SW1W 9SB.
