This no smoking business has cropped up again.
I wrote a poem a few weeks ago, condemning smoking.
I was in the Navy during the last war, where I could have bought cheap cigarettes also tobacco, which I turned down.
Also I was in business for over 20 years, where I also had the option of cheaper cigarettes, which I also turned down.
Sixty odd years ago, Mother said to me: "If I catch you with a cigarette in your mouth, I will push it down your throat." Sounds a bit callous, but Mother would have done just that. Also Dad would be waiting in the background with strap in hand, which he would have used.
Now I can gladly say, I haven't touched a cigarette from that day to this.
Wouldn't it be nice, if that procedure could be applied today?
