ANGRY Leigh Centurions chairman Mick Higgins has issued a public apology to travelling Leigh fans following Sunday's 60-14 hammering at Wakefield.

"The fans didn't deserve to have to suffer watching that," blasted the Hilton Park boss.

"Our away support is tremendous even though we've yet to win other than at Hilton Park. They pay good money to travel and to watch and deserve to see their team putting the effort in.

"The fans can't be kidded. They know when a team has tried. The second half against Wakefield was a total shambles and won't be accepted by this club.

"Only the players can put things right. I just hope they realise how badly they've let the town and the fans down."

Leigh's medical team will be working overtime this week as the casualties mounted at Belle Vue.

Tim Street missed the game with knee trouble while Tau Liku (knee), Kieron Purtill (ankle), Jason O'Loughlin (ankle) and Steve Garcis (thigh) have been added to the injured list.
