BOLTON Business School has won a coveted trophy in the Northern SWOT Awards for Marketing Excellence held in Manchester. For those not familiar with the jargon, SWOT means Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats. The School, which is part of Bolton Institute, won the award for the launch of its MBA course focused towards small and medium-sized businesses.
Mr Phil Harris, Senior Lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University, described it as "a very successful project in a highly competitive market."
He said: "The School succeeded in identifying a unique niche and targeted this well."
Bolton Business School won the trophy in their category (consumer budgets, up to £5k).
The Awards, now in their fourth year, are organised by the Manchester branch of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
BBC television personality Gordon Burns presented the trophies at a glitzy awards ceremony held at Manchester's Palace Hotel.
He was accompanied by the evening's host, Sir David Trippier, President of the Manchester branch and Chairman of Marketing Manchester.
