A SKIP hire company was reeling this morning from an arson attack which wrecked several of its wagons causing thousands of pounds worth of damage.

Arsonists targeted the fleet of skip wagons parked in the yard of Kenny Skip Hire in Lester Road, Little Hulton, last night.

The blaze was started shortly before 11pm, and destroyed three vehicles and badly damaged a fourth.

Police are investigating the fire, thought to have been started by vandals.

A nightwatchman on a nearby site spotted the fire and raised the alarm.

When fire crews arrived, the blaze was well alight.

This morning the owners of the family firm were desperately trying to hire extra wagons to take the place of the wrecked vehicles. Three crews - two from Farnworth and one from Bolton - fought the blaze for 90 minutes using three jets. The scene of devastation after the arson attack
