A SECOND Bolton school is using pagers as a weapon in the battle against truancy.
Smithills have managed to stop several persistent truants skipping school by bleeping parents as soon as they fail to turn up for lessons.
Now the Withins have also started issuing pagers to parents of pupils who skip classes.
Attendance will also be marked at every lesson as part of a tough crackdown ordered by head Judith Richardson.
