THIS pre-Millennium look at sex, love, longing and emotional dysfunction is described in the programme as a "whistle-stop tour of carnal habits throughout the British Isles."

This is a production (in association with Salisbury Playhouse) by Paines Plough - a company which tours new plays to small-scale theatres throughout the country.

Four talented writers, Hilary Fannin, Stephen Greenhorn, Abi Morgan and Mark Ravenhill, have provided a series of sharply-observed scenes acted with enormous skill by Sophie Stanton and John Lloyd Fillingham.

Some work better than others, but the overall effect is to make you think hard about the nature of human relationships in a modern world full of empty-headed market research, cyber toys designed for the cynical manipulation of childish emotions and empty urban lifestyles which confuse the glib and the inarticulate alike.

There are sexy, poignant and funny moments throughout a memorable evening. Alan Calvert
