SIR: Can anyone give me me any information about how to trace a soldier friend of the family who was stationed in Ravenfield Camp at Ravenfield Hall, Ravenfield, near Rotherham sometime around 1942-43? He was a gunner in the Artillery. We have forgotten the regiment number. His name was Harry Isherwood who came from Bolton. He played the trumpet professionally and he used to visit my parents who lived in Dalton, Nr Rotherham, Yorks. Their name was Mr and Mrs J Davison, 15 Dalton Lane, Dalton, Nr Rotherham, Yorkshire.
We know he married a girl from Tickhill, Yorkshire and had a son. We think, in 1948. I and my sister would love to find out his whereabouts.
Our parents are both dead now, but they thought of this man as a son. But after my sister and I married we lost touch. Mrs Ivy Roe (nee Davison)
