A £120,000 park pavilion was destroyed by fire early today.
Fire fighters arrived at the burning building in Close Park on Dumers Lane, Radcliffe, at 4.19am and were still at the scene five hours later.
Crews from Bury, Whitefield and Heywood attended, using two jets to put out the blaze.
The pavilion, which was used by local bowling clubs, was re-built last year with £73,000 of National Lottery grant and other contributions following a fire in 1995.
