IT may not have been borrowed or new, but a Radcliffe bride's mode of transport to her wedding was certainly old and blue.
For when it came to arriving at Bury Register Office in style, Zoe Bridge decided to defy tradition.
Instead of rolling up in a Rolls, or hailing a horse and carriage, the 24-year-old bride travelled in a 30-year-old Volkswagen camper van!
Her bridegroom was 27-year-old Stephen Moran. The couple, who have daughters aged eight and three, live in Robertson Street, Radcliffe.
The gleaming appearance of the vehicle, known as a bay window camper van, belies its age. Zoe said: "We've had it for the past three years and Stephen has fully restored it to pristine, showroom condition.
"We had the van specially decorated for the big day. Because we've used it many a time for holidays, I thought it would be an ideal vehicle to use for the wedding.
"We use the camper for our holidays and take it down to Newquay quite a lot with the children."
The Volkwagen may not have been quite as prestigious as other conventional wedding cars, but it did earn some admiring glances from road users en route to Bury Register Office.
Zoe, a home care assistant, added: "Apart from it being decorated on the outside, we put flowers inside the van."
