TWO BOLTON actors are going back in time to provide some lively entertainment.

Under the banner of their production company Unizarre David Bowles and Paul Flanagan are staging a mediaeval evening at Rivington Barn on July 4 when no doubt their acting talents will be used to good effect.

The pair are insisting that fancy dress is compulsory, but they are offering advice about hiring or making costumes.

"We think people like to dress up and enjoy themselves," David said. It's a chance to relive the past.

"The whole place will be decorated to reflect the medieval times."

Following a banquet, guests will be able to enjoy music, dancing, singing fire-eating and magic.

David and Paul have done a variety of professional work. As well as "straight' acting Paul has worked as a stunt man and been bombed, shot, stabbed, thrown from moving cars and dropped into the sea.

A couple of years ago he abseiled down Lewis's building in Manchester as part of the store's celebrations to welcome Father Christmas.

David too has had his fair share of action-packed roles. He appeared as a Celtic warrior chieftain in the Kevin Costner epic Robin Hood Prince of Thieves .

At one stage David tended to be typecast as a "heavy" and always played a "bad guy".

But he went on to loftier things when he filmed Gods of Olympus with Oliver Reed.
