Fleetwood 167/8 Chorley 170/2 CHORLEY'S busy weekend began with a crushing league win over Fleetwood.
In some ways this was ultimately a comfortable victory but Chorley also made it difficult for themselves.
Having got to 38 without loss, Fleetwood then collapsed to 48-5 as Angel got to work but Whalley survived courtesy of three dropped catches to eventually finish on 86 not out.
In fact, from 102-8 Whalley ushered his side, in company with Gregson, to 167-8.
Without Russell Cake, Chorley opened with captain Horridge in his stead to chase a higher target then they would have hoped.
In the event it did not matter. Despite losing Fazackerley for 13, Horridge looked untroubled in tandem with Heaton as the pair added 88 before Heaton was neatly caught at slip for 39.
Horridge though never looked like getting out and found support from Senior as Chorley coasted home with Horridge 68 not out and Senior unbeaten on 25.
Sunday's match against Harris Park was a cruise as Chorley won by 6 wickets.
The Palace Shield side offered only token resistance in posting 105 and Chorley had few problems knocking off the runs with Fazackerley top scoring with 49.
