ST John's RC Primary School has been given a clean bill of health by two sets of inspectors.
Ofsted inspectors and a team from the Catholic diocese visited the Bromley Cross school in February.
They described the school as "successful" and "thriving" providing a "caring, welcoming atmosphere which is conducive to learning."
At the end of key stage one, pupils had reached national expectations in all subjects and had excelled at English, History and Art.
But inspectors also found the need to improve the quality of teaching in some classes at key stage two and eleven year olds are not reaching national standards in design and technology.
Chairman of the school's governors, Father Sheahan said he was pleased the hard work of the staff, pupils, parents and governors had been recognised by the inspectors and plans are already in place "which will help in the pursuit of excellence."
