THE Under 14s Intermediate Section title race is hotting up with all the top three teams playing each other in the last week.
Ladybridge are now favourites after picking up three wins and a draw in their last four games following their defeat at the hands of Bromley Cross in the Jubilee Cup Final 2-1.
They played an incredible four games in six days, winning three times, 2-1 at home to Farnworth Villa and a double victory over close rivals Farnworth Boys 2-1 at home and 3-0 away.
They then went to Hindley Boys for what could be the championship decider and after going a goal down to an early strike from Mike Alker they pressed for an equaliser.
With time running out substitute Ashley Bond popped up in a goalmouth scramble to stab the ball home for a share of the points, leaving Hindley with only a chance of the runners-up spot.
In midweek AFC Bolton A won the Under 11s Jubilee Cup Final, when they beat Little Lever Boys 4-0 with a double strike for both Ivan Shirkie and Dale Barlow.
Bolton Lads Club Under 12s lifted the Jubilee Cup Final with a 6-1 victory over Hindley Juniors, thanks to a hat-trick from ace marksman Luke Killeen, who has now scored over 100 league and cup goals for the club this season.
