SIR: On June 2, former students of Bolton School (Boys/Girls) will be having the first reunion for those of us living in the United States; an historic event to be held at the Harvard Club, New York City. We are all thrilled to welcome the head teacher and his wife, the Development Director, David Poppitt and Lord Bob Haslam and his wife to bring the news of the school, help in its support, and renew contacts with Bolton.
Former Bolton students will travel to New York from all over the US for an evening reunion, to include a slide show of "Cool Bolton" and learn the new challenges to keep the school the best "grammar school" in England.
With the changes in the former assisted places scheme the school vigorously is trying to keep its doors open for all bright children irrespective of their parents' means, an endeavor strongly supported by the Bolton-US alumnae at this reunion. For further details, contact David Poppitt, Development Director, Bolton School, telephone 01204 434718.
