SIR: I was so pleased to read your article on Thin Lizzy recently, as only the previous day I had a long conversation with Brian Robertson, ex-guitarist of Thin Lizzy.
Several weeks ago, I spent hours in the dressing room at the Thin Lizzy 98 Convention in London, talking to Brian and Eric Bell. Eric wrote and played Whisky in the Jar for Lizzy, and was also one of their band members when they first formed.
I don't know if you are aware that Thin Lizzy have a tribute band that call themselves Limehouse Lizzy, and are very much supported by Phil Lynott's mum Philamena. She took this band to New York to play on St Patrick's Day. They are an excellent band and tour the UK, Europe and Ireland playing and looking just like Lizzy.
They are also in close contact with ex members of Thin Lizzy, and they have just hosted the 98 Lizzy Convention, and they play the Vibe in Dublin every year, which is organised by Phil Lynott's mum and friends.
Anyway, I fully support a concert, as John Sykes is an excellent guitarist. He now lives in LA and is taking time to do this. It would be great just to see him.
