SIR: I have lived in Westhoughton for more than 20 years. Before that I lived in Altrincham and Firswood in Greater Manchester.
I am a retired engineer and I like to do most of the competitions in the BEN. My grandson won a Robinson Crusoe Tree House and he was over the moon about it. As you will know, it is a promotion for Conquest Joinery.
I have always believed it is nice to be appreciative of nice people and efficient, friendly, service. I think you have a very nice staff including Andrea and the other staff of the Promotions sections, Jed Walsh and the photographers and the telephonists. It does make a big difference whatever one is doing if the people you meet are nice and helpful and I would really appreciate you passing on my comments to the departments concerned.
I do think all the competitions in the BEN are very good and customers like myself enjoy them and I do think the newspaper has moved with the times and over the years improved greatly. It is sad to say that good manners and civility are in the decline, but not at the BEN.
All our best wishes for the future.
