Four seasons Silver sky, clouds floating by
Trees bare, branches reaching high
Foliage fallen, withered and died
Landscape barren in such a short time.
Snowflakes falling, gentle and white,
Everything covered, a beautiful sight,
Stars shining in the midnight blue sky
Moonlight, lamplight, a Christmas card night.
Children sledging, shouting laughing,
Enjoy the wonder that nature has brought
Icy roads, broken bones, not everyone's joy
Elderly people, cold weary would love to be warm.
Snowdrops, crocus, daffodils, tulips,
Colours to cheer up the dullest of days
Rainbows following the rain and the sun
Blue skies and bird song the spring has begun.
Warm sun, cloudless skies
Lazy days, long summer nights
Honey bees gathering nectar
Butterflies dancing by.
Dragonflies in all their splendour
Fledglings leave the next, another wonder
Gardens arranged with beautiful flowers
The air is filled with the scent of summer. By Mrs M Pilkington,
