It is difficult to put a value on the work we do, from the point of view of the many individuals we help.

What value would Maud put on an outing when she would be housebound without CT's help? How would Tom, a full-time carer, put value on a downstairs bed to help him look after Elsie? If young Gary had any money, what price would he put on a bed when he has been sleeping on the floor? What about Michael - no longer homeless, or Caroline, moved away from a violent partner? CT helps these sort of people every day.

What about the long-term saving to the tax payer?

I appreciated, that with the many restrictions on Local Government spending, the Council could not find the £5,000. Then I read in the BEN that they can find £1million to refurbish the Town Hall Square.

Am I the only Boltonian to think that in the 1990s we have got out priorities wrong?
