THE Halle Orchestra is set to return to the Victoria Hall for a special Last Night of the Bolton Proms.
The concert, on July 11, is to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the founding of the NHS.
Money raised from ticket sales will be split between the Bolton Hospital Arts Project and Bolton Hospice. z
The event has been sponsored by the Manchester and Salford Hospital Saturday Council and features two prominent local musicians - Paul Payton, head of Bolton music Service and soprano Lorna Rushton, who lives in Heaton. Lorna will be the soloist in the Handel aria Let the Bright Seraphin and the obligatory Rule Britannia!
The mainly British programme will also include the Rawsthorne Overture Street Corner, Salton's March Orb Sceptre and Handel's Water Music.
Tickets are available from the Town Hall Ticket Unit on 364333.
Hats and flags will be available for sale on the night of the concert along with souvenir programmes containing the words for the audience items.
